A spooky and easy spider web charcuterie board that comes together in under 20 minutes. Perfect for Halloween parties, this board features a creative web design made with pretzel sticks and olive spiders, using simple grocery store ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces salami, thinly sliced
  • 6 ounces pepperoni, thinly sliced
  • 8 ounces cheddar cheese, cut into cubes
  • 8 ounces mozzarella pearls
  • 6 ounces gouda cheese, sliced
  • 1 can black olives, drained
  • 2030 assorted crackers
  • 1 cup grapes (red or green)
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup roasted and salted almonds
  • 1 cup pretzel sticks
  • 23 sprigs fresh rosemary (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your board: Place your round board on a clean, flat surface. If using kitchen twine, lay it across the board to create a rough guide for your web. You’ll remove it later.
  2. Create the outer ring: Arrange your sliced salami and pepperoni around the outer edge of the board. Fold each slice in half twice to create small, neat bundles. Place them about an inch apart, forming a complete circle.
  3. Build the cheese layer: Place your cheddar cubes and gouda slices inside the meat ring, creating a second concentric circle. Leave small gaps between cheese piecesโ€”these will become the ‘spokes’ of your web later.
  4. Add the mozzarella pearls: These go in a smaller circle inside the cheese layer. Space them evenly, about 2 inches apart.
  5. Fill the center: Place your small bowl of olives in the very center of the board. If you don’t have a bowl, arrange the olives in a tight cluster.
  6. Create the web strands: Use pretzel sticks to create straight lines radiating from the center outward, like spokes on a wheel. Place them between the mozzarella pearls, extending from the olive bowl to the outer meat ring. Then, use shorter pretzel pieces to create curved lines connecting the spokes, forming the circular web pattern.
  7. Fill the gaps: Scatter grapes, cherry tomatoes, and almonds in the empty spaces between the web strands. Don’t overcrowdโ€”leave some negative space so the web pattern remains visible.
  8. Make the spiders: Take 4-5 black olives and create ‘spiders’ by inserting small pretzel stick pieces into the sides for legs. Place these spiders on the web strands at different points.
  9. Add final touches: Tuck fresh rosemary sprigs around the edges for color. Remove any kitchen twine if you used it.

Notes

Start with a cold board to keep cheeses and meats fresh. Fold meat strategically to create height and texture. The spider web pattern is flexibleโ€”use cheese straws or breadsticks if you run out of pretzel sticks. Don’t overthink the spiders; if legs fall off, lay olives on their sides. Assemble up to 2 hours before serving; add crackers and pretzels just before serving to keep them crunchy.
