Firecracker Margarita - featured image

A vibrant and refreshing summer cocktail combining fresh strawberries, tequila blanco, and blue curaçao for a perfect balance of sweet, tart, and citrusy flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ounces tequila blanco
  • 68 medium fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 ounce blue curaçao
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice
  • ½ ounce agave syrup
  • Ice cubes
  • Salt or Tajín for rimming the glass (optional)
  • Sliced strawberries and lime wheels for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the glass by rubbing a lime wedge along the rim and dipping it into salt or Tajín to coat evenly. Set aside.
  2. Make the strawberry puree by blending sliced fresh strawberries with ½ ounce of lime juice until smooth. Strain through a fine mesh sieve if desired.
  3. Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Add 2 ounces tequila blanco, 1 ounce blue curaçao, remaining ½ ounce lime juice, ½ ounce agave syrup, and 2 ounces strawberry puree. Secure the lid.
  4. Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until the shaker feels cold and frosty.
  5. Fill the prepared glass with fresh ice cubes. Strain the margarita mixture into the glass.
  6. Garnish with a slice of strawberry and a lime wheel. Serve immediately. Optionally, add a splash of soda water for fizz.

Notes

Use fresh strawberries and fresh lime juice for best flavor. Shake with plenty of ice to chill and dilute properly. Adjust sweetness with agave syrup to taste. Tajín adds a smoky, spicy kick to the rim. For a mocktail, omit tequila and blue curaçao and substitute with orange juice and sparkling water.
