An easy, quick-to-assemble bagel board featuring smoky salmon, creamy dill-infused cream cheese, and crunchy everything bagels, perfect for casual brunches or entertaining guests.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large everything bagels
  • 8 oz (225 g) smoked salmon, thinly sliced
  • 8 oz (225 g) full-fat cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons capers
  • ½ medium red onion, thinly sliced
  • ½ medium cucumber, thinly sliced
  • A few sprigs fresh dill for garnish
  • 1 lemon, cut into wedges
  • Olive oil (optional, for drizzling)
  • Optional extras: sliced tomatoes, sliced radishes, or avocado

Instructions

  1. Let the cream cheese soften at room temperature for about 15 minutes.
  2. In a small bowl, mix softened cream cheese with 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh dill and 1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice. Set aside.
  3. Using a sharp knife, slice each everything bagel in half horizontally. Optionally, toast them lightly for 2-3 minutes for extra crunch.
  4. Arrange the bagel halves on a large wooden board with the cut side facing up.
  5. Thinly slice ½ a medium red onion and ½ a medium cucumber. Arrange these in small piles or bowls on the board.
  6. Fold the smoked salmon slices loosely and place them on the board in an accessible spot.
  7. Spoon 2 tablespoons of capers into a small bowl or pile them neatly on the board.
  8. Add lemon wedges to the board for squeezing just before eating.
  9. Scatter fresh dill sprigs over the board for garnish.
  10. Optionally drizzle a small amount of olive oil over the salmon for a silky finish.
  11. Add any optional extras like sliced tomatoes, radishes, or avocado now.
  12. Serve with a small spreader or butter knife so guests can build their own bagels.

Notes

Let cream cheese soften before mixing for easier spreading. Use cold-smoked salmon for best texture. Thinly slice veggies and bagels for balanced bites. Assemble board just before serving to keep ingredients fresh. Rinse capers if less saltiness is desired. Optional olive oil drizzle adds silky finish.
