A quick and effortless charcuterie board perfect for romantic picnics, featuring a balanced mix of cheeses, meats, fruits, nuts, and crackers designed for two.

Ingredients

  • Brie cheese, soft and creamy (triple-cream recommended)
  • Aged cheddar, sliced thin
  • Goat cheese log, crumbled
  • Prosciutto, thinly sliced
  • Soppressata or Genoa salami, sliced
  • Seedless red grapes, washed and separated
  • Fresh figs, halved
  • Strawberries, quartered
  • Marcona almonds
  • Artisan crackers, mix of plain and herbed
  • Honey, for drizzling
  • Fig jam or apricot preserves (optional)
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs, for garnish
  • Olives, Kalamata or Castelvetrano

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cheeses: remove brie rind if desired, slice cheddar thinly, crumble goat cheese into small chunks. Place cheeses in separate areas on the board.
  2. Arrange the meats: fan out prosciutto slices and roll salami or soppressata into small rosettes. Position near cheeses.
  3. Wash and prep fruits: rinse grapes and strawberries, pat dry. Halve figs carefully. Scatter fruits in clusters around the board.
  4. Place crunchy elements: fill small bowls with Marcona almonds and olives. Arrange artisan crackers in small stacks or loose piles near cheeses and meats.
  5. Add finishing touches: drizzle honey over goat cheese and brie. Place fresh rosemary sprigs around the board. Optionally add a small dish of fig jam or apricot preserves.
  6. Pack and transport: cover board loosely with parchment or cheesecloth to protect from bugs and dust. Pack in a basket or cooler. Keep cheeses chilled until serving if outdoors.

Notes

Bring cheeses out of the fridge 20-30 minutes before serving for best flavor and texture. Use odd numbers of items for a natural look. Keep fruits separate if prepping ahead to avoid sogginess. Drizzle honey or sprinkle fresh herbs for added flavor and presentation. For warm board option, heat small wheel of brie or camembert in foil until soft.
