These quick Halloween deviled eggs feature a spicy sriracha kick and a spiderweb design that looks impressive but takes just 20 minutes. Perfect for weeknight Halloween parties, they’re a crowd-pleaser that disappears fast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 large eggs (room temperature preferred)
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise (Hellmann’s or Duke’s recommended)
  • 1–2 teaspoons sriracha (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika (for garnish)
  • Black sesame seeds (for spider eyes, optional)
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise (for spider web piping)
  • 1/2 teaspoon sriracha (for spider web mixture)

Instructions

  1. Place eggs in a single layer in a medium saucepan. Cover with cold water by about 1 inch. Bring to a rolling boil over high heat, then cover, remove from heat, and let sit for exactly 10 minutes.
  2. While eggs cook, fill a large bowl with ice and cold water for an ice bath.
  3. Transfer eggs immediately to the ice bath using a slotted spoon. Let sit for at least 5 minutes to stop cooking and make peeling easier.
  4. Peel eggs under cold running water, starting from the wider end. Gently tap to crack the shell all over.
  5. Slice each egg in half lengthwise with a sharp knife. Pop yolks into a small mixing bowl. Arrange white halves on a serving platter.
  6. Add 3 tablespoons mayonnaise, 1-2 teaspoons sriracha, mustard, salt, pepper, and garlic powder to the yolks. Mash with a fork until smooth and creamy.
  7. Taste the filling and adjust seasoning as needed. Add more sriracha, salt, or mustard to taste.
  8. Spoon filling into a piping bag or zip-top bag. Snip off about 1/4 inch from the corner. Pipe filling into each egg white, mounding slightly above the surface.
  9. In a small bowl, mix 2 tablespoons mayonnaise with 1/2 teaspoon sriracha until uniform. Transfer to a small piping bag or zip-top bag with a tiny tip (snip 1/8 inch off corner).
  10. Pipe a small dot of the red mixture in the center of each filled egg. Pipe 3-4 concentric circles around the dot. Using a toothpick, drag from the center outward through all circles to create a web effect. Repeat in 4-6 places per egg. Wipe toothpick clean between eggs.
  11. Sprinkle a pinch of paprika over each egg. If using black sesame seeds, place two near the center of each web for spider eyes.
  12. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to let flavors meld and filling firm up. Best within 4 hours of making.

Notes

Use eggs that are at least a week old for easier peeling. For the spiderweb, less is moreโ€”a thin line creates the effect. If filling is too warm, it will be too soft to pipe; chill for 20 minutes after mixing. Do not freeze deviled eggs. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days; spiderweb design may blur after 24 hours.
