This easy homemade freezer-friendly Uncrustables recipe offers a quick, fuss-free way to make soft, crustless peanut butter and jelly sandwiches that can be frozen and enjoyed anytime.

Ingredients

  • White sandwich bread (soft and fresh, preferably without preservatives)
  • Peanut butter (creamy or chunky, natural preferred)
  • Grape jelly or jam (or strawberry, raspberry, or other favorite jams)
  • Flour (for dusting to prevent sticking)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your workspace by laying out all ingredients and tools. Lightly dust your work surface with flour to prevent bread from sticking.
  2. Using a round cookie cutter (about 3 inches diameter), cut circles out of each slice of bread. Save crusts for other uses.
  3. Spread about 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of peanut butter evenly on one bread circle.
  4. Spread 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of jelly on another bread circle.
  5. Place the jelly-topped bread circle on top of the peanut butter one, jelly side down. Press gently to stick them together.
  6. Using a rolling pin or heavy pan, press firmly around the edges to seal the sandwich without flattening the bread completely.
  7. Place each sandwich on a parchment-lined baking sheet, making sure they don’t touch. Freeze for about 1 hour until firm.
  8. Transfer the frozen sandwiches into plastic freezer bags or airtight containers. Label with the date and store for up to 3 months.

Notes

Use fresh, soft bread for best results. Lightly mist bread with water if dry before pressing. Freeze sandwiches individually on a tray before bagging to prevent sticking. Avoid microwaving directly from frozen to keep bread soft. Customize fillings as desired.
