These adorable mummy-themed pigs in a blanket are wrapped in flaky crescent dough and served with a sweet-tangy honey mustard dip. Perfect for Halloween parties, game days, or any cozy gathering, they come together in under 25 minutes with simple pantry ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (8 oz) crescent roll dough (e.g., Pillsbury Original Crescents)
  • 16 oz package cocktail wieners (e.g., Lit’l Smokies or Hillshire Farm)
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds or sesame seeds (for eyes)
  • ยผ cup Dijon mustard (e.g., Grey Poupon)
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • Salt and black pepper, a pinch each

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Open the can of crescent roll dough. Carefully unroll it and separate it along the perforations into 8 triangles. Cut each triangle lengthwise into 3 long, thin strips to get 24 strips total. If the dough feels too soft, refrigerate for 5 minutes.
  3. Take one cocktail wiener and wrap it with a strip of dough, leaving small gaps (about ยผ inch apart) between the strips to resemble mummy bandages. Use about 1.5 strips per wiener.
  4. Place the wrapped mummies on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 1 inch of space between each.
  5. Press two small mustard seeds or sesame seeds into the exposed ‘face’ area of each mummy for eyes. Alternatively, dab tiny dots of mustard or ketchup after baking.
  6. Optional: Brush the dough lightly with a beaten egg or melted butter for a golden finish.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and puffed. Rotate the baking sheet halfway through if needed.
  8. While baking, make the honey mustard dip: In a small bowl, whisk together Dijon mustard, honey, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Adjust to taste.
  9. Let the mummies cool on the baking sheet for 2-3 minutes before transferring to a serving platter.
  10. Serve immediately with the honey mustard dip on the side.

Notes

For best results, keep the dough cold to prevent tearing. The gaps in the wrapping are essential for the mummy look. The dip can be made a day ahead for deeper flavor. Unbaked mummies can be frozen for up to 3 months.
