This creamy, tangy, and perfectly spicy buffalo chicken dip is the ultimate game day crowd-pleaser. Made with budget-friendly ingredients and ready in just 20 minutes, it’s so good it will convert even the most stubborn buffalo sauce hater.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 (12.5-ounce) cans canned chicken (e.g., Kirkland or Bumble Bee), drained well
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup Frank’s RedHot Original Cayenne Pepper Sauce
  • ½ cup ranch dressing
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided (¾ cup for dip, ¼ cup for topping)
  • 3 to 4 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Drain the canned chicken thoroughly by pressing it in a fine-mesh strainer to remove excess liquid.
  3. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, drained chicken, Frank’s RedHot sauce, ranch dressing, and ¾ cup of the shredded cheddar cheese. Mix until well combined.
  4. Transfer the mixture to an 8×8 baking dish and spread into an even layer. Sprinkle the remaining ¼ cup of shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes, or until the dip is hot and bubbly around the edges. For a deeper golden color, broil for 1 to 2 minutes, watching closely.
  6. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes to set.
  7. Sprinkle sliced green onions over the top and serve warm with tortilla chips, celery sticks, carrot sticks, or crusty bread.

Notes

For a party, you can cook this dip in a slow cooker on low for 2 hours, stirring halfway through. Leftovers keep in the refrigerator for up to 4 days and reheat well. To make it less spicy, reduce hot sauce to ¼ cup and add extra ranch dressing.
