A creamy, spicy buffalo chicken dip featuring a decorative spider web design made with mozzarella cheese. This easy-to-make appetizer is perfect for Halloween parties or weeknight snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded chicken
  • 1/2 cup buffalo sauce
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing
  • 1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese
  • Green onions, sliced
  • Blue cheese dressing (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Soften the cream cheese by leaving it out for 30 minutes or microwaving in 10-second intervals until soft but not melted.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, ranch dressing, and buffalo sauce. Mix until completely smooth.
  3. Fold in the shredded chicken and 1 cup of the shredded cheddar cheese until evenly distributed.
  4. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish. Pour the mixture into the dish and spread evenly.
  5. Place the remaining 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese in a ziplock bag with a tiny corner cut off. Pipe concentric circles and lines onto the dip to create a spider web design.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes until bubbly and the cheese is melted and slightly golden.
  7. Let cool for 5 minutes, garnish with sliced green onions, and serve with chips or vegetables.

Notes

Ensure cream cheese is fully softened to avoid lumps. Use freshly grated mozzarella for the web design as pre-shredded cheese contains anti-caking agents that prevent smooth melting. Adjust buffalo sauce quantity based on heat preference. Let dip rest for 5 minutes before serving to allow it to set.
