A quick and refreshing adult drink that blends nostalgic red, white, and blue bomb pop popsicles with vodka and citrus for a perfect summer slushie.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 bomb pop popsicles (classic red, white, and blue)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) vodka
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) simple syrup
  • 2 cups (480 ml) ice cubes
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) sparkling water (optional)

Instructions

  1. Remove the bomb pop popsicles from the freezer and unwrap them. Let them sit at room temperature for about 3 minutes to soften slightly.
  2. Place 6 popsicles into the blender jar. Add 1/2 cup (120 ml) vodka, 1 tablespoon (15 ml) fresh lemon juice, and 1 tablespoon (15 ml) simple syrup. Add 1 cup (240 ml) of ice cubes.
  3. Pulse the mixture on medium-high for 30 seconds, then blend continuously for 1-2 minutes until the ice and popsicles are fully crushed and the mixture looks smooth but icy. If it’s too thick, add a splash of sparkling water (about 1/4 cup / 60 ml) and blend again briefly.
  4. Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness by adding more simple syrup or lemon juice as desired.
  5. Pour the first batch into chilled glasses and repeat steps 2-4 with the remaining 6 popsicles, vodka, lemon juice, syrup, and ice.
  6. Serve immediately, garnished with a fresh lemon wedge or a small popsicle on the side.

Notes

Use fresh lemon juice for best flavor. If blender struggles with ice, crush ice separately before blending. Blend in short bursts to avoid overheating. Chill serving glasses beforehand to keep drinks cold longer. For non-alcoholic version, replace vodka with sparkling water and add cranberry juice.
