This isn’t just another cheese board—it’s a full-on, game-day feast that actually fills people up. The combination of warm, buttery pretzel bites with sharp cheese, salty meats, and tangy pickles is a flavor explosion that never gets old.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (16 oz) frozen pretzel bites
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon coarse sea salt
  • 8 oz sliced salami (Genoa or hard salami)
  • 6 oz prosciutto, thinly sliced
  • 6 oz pepperoni slices
  • 8 oz sharp cheddar cheese, cubed
  • 6 oz smoked gouda, sliced
  • 4 oz brie cheese, at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup spicy brown mustard
  • 1/3 cup queso dip
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup dill pickle spears
  • 1/3 cup Kalamata olives, pitted
  • 1/2 cup roasted, salted almonds
  • 1 cup red seedless grapes
  • 1 medium apple (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), sliced and tossed in lemon juice
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs (optional, for garnish)
  • Edible flowers (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread the frozen pretzel bites in a single layer on the sheet. Bake for 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed. Remove from the oven, brush immediately with the melted butter, and sprinkle with the coarse sea salt. Set aside to cool slightly.
  2. While the pretzels are baking, spoon the spicy brown mustard into one small bowl, the queso dip into another, and pour the honey into a third. Place these bowls on your board first as anchor points.
  3. Place the cubed cheddar in a small pile near the top of the board. Fan out the smoked gouda slices next to it. Place the whole brie wedge near the center, close to the honey.
  4. Fold the salami slices into quarters and arrange them in a small, overlapping pile near the cheddar. Drape the prosciutto in loose, wavy ribbons next to the gouda. Pile the pepperoni slices in a separate cluster.
  5. Place the dill pickle spears in a small cluster near the pepperoni. Add the Kalamata olives in their own small bowl or pile. Scatter the roasted almonds in a few small gaps around the board.
  6. Tuck the small clusters of red grapes into the empty spaces on the board. Arrange the apple slices in a fan shape near the brie. Add rosemary sprigs or edible flowers if using.
  7. Pile the warm, buttery pretzel bites in the center of the board, or in a large, open space. Serve immediately while the pretzels are still warm and soft.

Notes

For best texture, always buy a block of cheddar and cut it yourself. Take cheeses out of the fridge 30 minutes before assembling to allow them to soften. Serve honey in a small bowl with a spoon rather than drizzling directly on brie. Don’t overcrowd the board—leave about an inch of space between each element. If you forget the pickles, add them anyway—they provide a necessary briny pop.
